‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane’ becomes Eurasia finalist

Iranian ‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane’ becomes finalist at the Eurasia Int’l Film Festival in Russia.

The Eurasia International Film Festival has chosen Iran’s ‘Kiarostami and His Missing Cane’ as the finalist of its August 2019 edition.

Directed by Mahmoud-Reza Sani and produced by Behrouz Neshan, the piece aims to depict late Abbas Kiarostami’s worldview and his perspective on life and cinema.

Kiarostami, in this film, is portrayed as a child who is exploring new games. As Kiarostami says, cinema for him is like a game that allows him to go back to his childhood.

Kiarostami is mostly known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer.

The veteran Iranian filmmaker, who passed away on July 4, 2016 following a heart attack at the age of 76, was honored at more than 300 film events around the world.

The Eurasia festival is a great opportunity for filmmakers to take part at an international competition.

The event aims to introduce filmmakers from around the world to the audience.

The official selections and the winners of the festival are selected monthly. The winners have the chance to be shown along with other films-winners at the live screening once a year.
